Sources

Some parts (modules) of QuantumSTEP are covered by Open Source Licenses. Therefore, we make available a link for download of the source packages.

mySTEP

mySTEP is based on mGStep and GNUstep and uses the LGPL. It covers:
  • libFoundation - based on mGStep and GNUstep
  • libAppKit - based on mGStep and GNUstep
  • libWebCore
  • libSystemUI - completely rewritten by DSITRI
  • libAddressBook - completely rewritten by DSITRI
Please fetch the latest source package on the Downloads page or Browse a Snapshot.

X11

We include precompiled binaries of several X11R6 libraries. Sources are available at http://www.X.org.

As X server we use x11zaurus, zapmd and ztsd where we don't have the source and it appears to have disappeared from the Internet. As we are not the author nor have we changed any source (because we don't have access), we assume we are not required to make it Open Source...

An alternative server is currently under consideration: X/qt (http://xqt.sourceforge.jp/index.html)

Other Libraries

QuantumSTEP includes precompiled binaries of
  • libz - 1.1.4
  • libtiff - 3.5.7
  • libpng - 0.1.2.5
  • libgif - ?
  • libavcall - ?
  • libobjc - 2.95.3
  • libX11 - 6.2
and others (mainly X11 libraries but those are not used)

System Commands

QuantumSTEP provides the following shell commands
  • open - open files and Cocoa applications
  • defaults - manage the defaults database
  • debug - start application in gdb environment
  • pax - used for the package installer
Sources are part of the mySTEP package.

Zaurus-X-gcc

Zaurus-X-gcc is a precompiled binary of gcc-2.95.3 for Xcode. How to obtain sources and compile the cross-compiler is described at http://www.lucid-cake.net/. The distribution resp. the SDK also includes most of the binary libraries mentioned above so that you can link your applications against them.

Applications

Sources of the Applications of QuantumSTEP are not generally available. They are all original work and do not include any Open Source code with requirement to publish the source (e.g. GPL). Depending on your level of membership, you can get access based on an NDA.
